The Sacrament of Confirmation is a strengthening of the grace we receive at Baptism, and can be thought of as “deputization” in the Faith, being given the power of adulthood as a Catholic Christian. Many people think of adulthood as synonymous with autonomy. For the Christian, being an adult means having the ability and disposition of taking care of others.
